Email Sending Policy

This Email Sending Policy, the Universal Terms of Use, and any additional Gressing policies and Agreements, together with all modifications thereto, constitute the complete and exclusive agreement between you and Gressing concerning your use of Gressing’s Solutions as they relate to email sending, and supersede and govern all prior proposals, agreements, or other communications.

Using Gressing, LLC (“Gressing”) Website, its forums, products, services, documentation, and/or software (referred to hereafter as "Solutions”) constitutes acceptance of the terms of this policy, including all policies and documents referenced or linked herein.

Gressing has a zero-tolerance posture policy for Spam. You can view Gressing’s Anti-Spam Policy at http://www.gressing.com/antispam.htm, which is incorporated herein by reference, as it is applicable to all Gressing Solutions.

Email Limits

Your email account(s), regardless of the hosting package you purchased, has a 200-email-per-hour limit. If you send over this amount in any hour, most of the emails will be undeliverable and will bounce back with an undeliverable error.

You are not permitted to send emails with a mailing list larger than 5,000 recipients

Mailing Lists Rules

All email lists sent, regardless of the size of the list, must be throttled.

We recommend you throttle it to, at the very least, sending 1 email every 6 seconds. If the mailing list software you use does not allow you to throttle, you have only two recourses:

  • Do not send email lists; or
  • Use a program that allows you to throttle

We recommend using phplist which, as of the date of this policy and depending on your hosting package, can be found in and installed through your control panel under Fantastico.

If you fail to throttle, this may result in degraded performance of Gressing servers by forcing a high load until the process is completed. If your actions cause the servers load to go high, your account will be suspended and the process will be terminated.

Any mailing list sending over 900 emails is only allowed to be sent during off-peak times to prevent high server loads. Off-peak times are defined as all day Saturday and Sunday and 1am - 8 am eastern time Monday through Friday.

You are not allowed to mail to a mailing list that you were given or that you purchased. This is spamming, for which Gressing has a zero-tolerance policy.

Gressing reserves the right to cancel any account related to or involved in spamming.

Any unsolicited e-mail being sent will result in termination of the offending account. We take a zero tolerance stance against sending of unsolicited e-mail.

All email, as relevant, and mailing lists must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act), enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

No Direct SMTP mailers are allowed. An example of this is DarkMailer.

Any mail should be relayed through the local MTA (localhost:25) for further delivery by the server and not done directly by scripts.
