Gressing - Home of Technology in Motion

As a general rule, unless you have a team that can concentrate solely or primarily on web and documentation solutions, Gressing does not recommend doing it yourself. There are several good reasons to hire a professional, in general, and Gressing, in particular:

  • As a business owner, your primary job is running your business. Building and maintaining a website or creating comprehensive documentation takes you away from your primary focus.
  • Creating documentation or websites is more than just learning to use tools and technology. There are principles of design, best practices, development processes and philosophies that all must be relied upon to create successful communication pieces.
  • Technology and media change rapidly. Knowing what not to do is just as important as knowing what to do.
  • And finally, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

But, for those of you who would like to do it yourself, Gressing has compiled a list of resources that may help. If you find something listed particularly helpful, let our STAR team know. If enough people find it helpful, we'll post the comments and recommendations. Likewise, if you think something should be removed, let us know and tell us why you feel that way.

Once you've created your site, feel free to request an analysis. Gressing performs select abbreviated analyses for free, and more detailed analyses for a fee.

Feel free to share you experience as a do-it-yourselfer. We'll post those experiences that we think will help others.
