About Gressing, LLC

Gressing is a premier web and technical documentation solution provider. Headquartered in North Carolina, near the RTP area, Gressing operates a technology company with a global client base.

History

Gressing's history spans over two decades, punctuated with self-analysis and directional changes as needed.

Gressing began as Total Success Enterprises (TSE), an owner operated DBA, in early 1984. TSE provided documentation support and career counseling to businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals.

By the early 1990s, it was clear to forward thinkers that the Internet and the World Wide Web would play in integral role in the delivery of information across a global network. Like many others, TSE took its business and offerings to the web as a new company called World Wide Words. Concentrating on Technical Documentation and Website Development, World Wide Words continued to add value to the operation of small businesses.

As World Wide Words continued to penetrate the web development and documentation services markets, it also conducted self and industry analyses. Among other things, the analyses revealed:

  • The company name, World Wide Words, was both restrictive and misleading.
  • Many small business owners were intimidated by the thought of having a website, but were also afraid not to have a website. This scenario created a market of vulnerable business owners who were preyed upon by less-than-reputable web development companies.
  • Many small businesses, especially software companies, allowed developers to create their documentation or shipped their products without online help.
  • For many, the cost of having a professional website designed or professional documentation created was prohibitive.
  • When small business owners attempted to develop their own sites, with the magic wand they had been sold, the sites often failed in the navigation, look and feel, content, writing, and/or maintenance areas.

In short, from the the analyses Gressing concluded that small business owners were in need of documentation and web solutions that would yield professional results and fit into existing processes to allow the solutions to evolve while not adversely impacting the business bottom line.

From our alignment of our solutions with the needs of the business community, our mission statement was born.
